The SA Athletic FC MICRO ACADEMY is an introductory club-level training program for boys and girls, in the <U6 age groups, who want to have fun learning soccer fundamentals and playing the game of soccer, no matter their initial skill level.
We are focused on the long-term development of each player by preparing players to learn and sparking imagination, and creativity, and emphasizing lots of application to individual ball control, technique, coordination, agility, and balance.
The program is designed to be a great experience for new players looking to learn and start their journey through their personal development process in the most positive and creative training environment.
We look to develop soccer players that become lifelong supporters of the game and tomorrow’s future leaders by encouraging our core values.
Each game allows the players to have fun while trying out new skills and allowing them to express themselves in a healthy, friendly, and challenging environment.
Our Fall 2026 & Spring 2027 MICRO ACADEMY program runs through SAAFC to develop and prepare players to move into the SAAFC Junior Academy.
-U4/U6 practice on:
Tuesdays & Thursdays 5:30 PM – 6:30 PM
Game days are typically on Saturday, and teams will play in the local AAYSA Academy League against other club teams in San Antonio. This age group will have limited travel within the San Antonio area, and the teams will train twice per week. Tournament play will be optional, and teams will be able to participate in AAYSA Festival events. All SAAFC Micro Academy players joining in the Fall seasons sign a one (1) year player agreement to play for two seasons (both fall and spring), which make up one seasonal year. Players who are new and joining for the spring season sign a one (1) season player agreement to play for just the spring season. Additional opportunities for indoor play are also available in the winter and summer months, and players are encouraged to take advantage of those opportunities.
These age groups play “small-sided” games (4v4)
Field dimensions for <U6 players are expanded to 30 x 20 yds.

Training information:

SPRING SEASON 2027
Training information:
Starts: February 17, 2027
Ends: May 28, 2027
Age groups: U4/U6
Practices:
U4/U6: Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Game day and times: Weekend home/away games in San Antonio.
Registrations for SA Athletic FC are completed with our internal billing system.
Our internal club system is designed to set up auto payments and it is used for billing for all of our club programs as well as to communicate with all of our teams and families.
An account/profile needs to be created for each player in order to register for the age-appropriate program as well as to ensure that the player is eligible to train and play in each season.
